Bergeron followed just past the midway point of the period to put the home team up by one, then Krejci's fifth of the season boosted the B's to a 3-1 edge 7:43 into the second period.

Savard added a power-play marker at 9:26 for a 4-1 lead, and the Bruins withstood brief charges by the visitors until Peltonen drew Florida within a pair with 3:06 left in regulation.

The Panthers gambled by calling Vokoun to the bench with more than two minutes to go but were unable to solve Thomas.

Boston had not won a home contest against Florida since a 4-1 decision on November 3, 2005...Panthers defenseman Bryan McCabe picked up two assists in the loss...The Bruins travel to Montreal on Saturday while the Panthers return home to begin a three-game homestand by welcoming Carolina on Monday.
